Ego-fest aside, I'd like to take this time to welcome you to my journal. Here you will find ranting, babbling, more ranting, some memery, a side of ranting, and also fannish squeeing.
Did I mention I have a tendency to rant?
I'd advise against discussing politics with me unless we've met in a political community. Chances are, we disagree, and my ego is such that I firmly believe those who disagree with me are wrong. That means you. If you enjoy a rousing argument, though, feel free to engage me in political discussion! Also, if you can actually hold an intelligent, reasonable debate with resources to back your argument up (even if it's... ::shudder:: The Daily Kos or Huffington Press), and won't get all whiny and butt-hurt when I respond with a dissenting viewpoint and demands that you have evidence of what you claim, again, please feel free. Finally, I will not tolerate sexist or racist remarks. I don't give a fuck if you think everything Sarah Palin does is wrong, or if you think Barack Obama is the worst President ever. Racism, sexism, and all those other bigoted ways of thinking will get you shut down. Spew that crap on your own time and in your own place. I have neither time nor patience for it.

I love fandom. Current fannish interests are Star Trek and Doctor Who. I have also been seen in Hot Fuzz and Band of Brothers fandom.
There are a great many other fandoms I love as well, but mostly lurk on the edges of. NCIS, NCIS:LA, Hellsing, and ReBoot are a few.
Favourite authors are Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Naomi Novik, Garth Nix, and Frank Beddor. I have a rather unhealthy love of young adult fantasy novels, historical fiction, and anything where the main characters are cats. While I am certainly a picky reader, it doesn't have to be a great classic of literature for me to enjoy it. I'll take enthralling, if somewhat lackluster, writing over dull but technically exact writing any day. Just so long as it's readable; so no horrid grammar mistakes, misspellings every other word, and walls of text.
Current obsessions are Lush and BPAL.
Anything else will be added as I think of it.
